On days like today, I'm glad that people like Chad Gervich share their wisdom through blogging about the [Hollywood] industry. Even though I'm not in the older age range today's post is targeted to, it has some great universal insight about breaking into screenwriting. And I have wondered if it matters whether I'm in my mid-twenties rather than being in my early twenties and fresh from a college campus. The post encouraged me to embrace working hard and to be realistic about the challenges ahead.
There was a line in the Southland premiere in which the more experienced officer said, "You're a cop, because you don't know how not to be one." Maybe I'm interpreting the quote out of context, but sometimes I feel the same way about being a writer.
