New books

I only have time for a short post right now, but hopefully will come up with more content soon.

I recently ordered books from Amazon on screenwriting:
Screenplay: The Foundations of Screenwriting, by Syd Field
and
Save the Cat! The Last Book on Screenwriting You'll Ever Need, by Blake Snyder

I'm excited to learn from them, though I haven't started either yet. I plan to as soon as possible. They were recommended to me by the director of the writing program I didn't get into this summer.

I am also currently reading The Android's Dream, by John Scalzi. It's the selection for discussion this coming week in Joe Mallozzi's Book of the Month club. I've read Scalzi's blog for a while and some of his nonfiction, but I wanted to know what his fiction was like.
