I watched the creamy crescent moon glow a welcoming smile at me while I steered my car towards the exit ramp that meant home.
I sang along with John Mayer as he asked:
Suppose I said
Colors change for no good reason
And words will go
From poetry to prose
Would you want me when I'm not myself?
Wait it out while I am someone else?
I turned into the driveway, glanced adoringly up at the crystal clear stars on the way, and soon brought my shopping bags into the house.
Sometimes driving alone on the highway at night for several miles accompanied by a mellowly wistful soundtrack can be therapeutic. I think it was tonight.
